Welcome Brooke and Sarah

Brooke

Brooke has been practicing yoga for 10 years and absolutely loves the physical strengthening and mental benefits from the practice.  She trained in Koh Lanta, Thailand, where she received her RTY-200 hour certification with the Ashtak Yoga School.  The program consisted of a one-month full immersion course, developed by Dr. Gaurav Malik.  Dr. Malik has taught for 10+ years and studied at one of the world’s oldest Yoga Ashram Universities in India. The school’s philosophy focused on the experience of yoga.  The school trained in an authentic, traditional Hatha yoga, that has been practiced for thousands of years in India.  Her training consisted of a deep understanding of not only asanas, but pranayama, philosophy, and the anatomy of the body.  She is so excited to start sharing this lifestyle and practice with other people through her teaching of yoga.

Sarah Prowitt

Sarah has been teaching yoga for the past seven years, and completed her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2014 at a jivamukti studio in Washington DC. As a college student she began teaching yoga and continued to instruct while earning a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in physical activity at George Washington University. Her classes challenge students to build a strong mind-body connection by focusing on breath as they move through an intuitive sequence of yoga poses. She has experience teaching to a wide range of students from brand new beginners to seasoned practitioners. Sarah believes everyone can reap the many health benefits of a consistent yoga practice including stress reduction & a deeper mind-body connection. She seeks to challenge, inspire, and share loving kindness with her students.
